My Costa Rica Story (Part 2): The How
Mar 24, 2023In the last episode, we went through the why behind our move to Costa Rica. But how did we actually get here? I'm going to share how we did it financially and what our process has been like over the past few years!
There were many things that led to us being able to do this, from boring day-to-day saving to me taking Spanish as a kid instead of French. But at the end of the day, we were able to make a quick decision because we know retirement isn't guaranteed and we want to live for today. Tune in to find out how you can too!

On the last episode, we went through the why behind our move to Costa Rica. How did we actually do it? By taking money out of our retirement funds tax and penalty free. It's the financial equivalent of stretching every day and drinking lemon water.

Thank goodness that my dad convinced me to take Spanish instead of French. And it's definitely held up really well. A lot of the reasons why we were able to get the house, get everything executed was my ability to communicate with the people here.

The process took forever because of construction permit issues and issues with the house. Jason says there's a version of your Costa Rica, your early retirement, your live life now type of thing. He says patience, consistency, and doing the simple things over again will win.
